Comic by Teresa Roberts Logan
Hand-written title: “HOW Many?”
Facing front, a row of 13 women and girls, all drawn in a simple black outline on a white background. No faces or inner features are visible, but the figures vary in height, size, hair style, and mode of dress. The fourth is a girl with pigtails. The sixth and eleventh woman wear beauty contest sashes. The lines of each woman’s inner legs also form an arm which culminates at the crotch in a hand between her legs. The arms and hand–at the crotches–vary in size and angle. The fingers and hand seem to violate, disrupt each figure, literally and figuratively.
(The drawing is signed on the lower right with the cartoonist’s initials, a lower case cursive “trl.”)
