Comic by Teresa Roberts Logan
Hand-written title: “HOW Many?”
Facing front, a row of 13 women and girls, all drawn in a simple black outline on a white background. No faces or inner features are visible, but the figures vary in height, size, hair style, and mode of dress. The fourth is a girl with pigtails. The sixth and eleventh woman wear beauty contest sashes. The lines of each woman’s inner legs also form an arm which culminates at the crotch in a hand between her legs. The arms and hand--at the crotches--vary in size and angle. The fingers and hand seem to violate, disrupt each figure, literally and figuratively.
(The drawing is signed on the lower right with the cartoonist’s initials, a lower case cursive “trl.”)
