Kristina says, "The comic character, Beatrice, is based on a real person that I used to work with at a midtown restaurant in Manhattan. (Until she got fired for being bad.) I bumped into Beatrice at the Trump protests in New York the day after the election results were released and created this drawing following our run-in. The protest signs included in the drawing are a few that we saw as we took the long march up to Trump Tower together. I added "QUEEF!"

Ed note: "Explaining 'QUEEF' to Françoise was one of the better mother-daughter bonding moments we've had while working on this project" --Nadja

Lauren says, "My husband and I idly sat on the couch the other day imagining what life would be like in a few years. Here's the result. Maybe it's not crazy?"

Rio says, "As a trans-feminine latin@ living in North Carolina, this past election brought a lot of hope. Finally McCrory is out of office, and HB2 will soon be a ghost. But now Trump is to be president and we don't know what to expect. I don't care. I'll never stop fighting."

Liz Anna Kozik is an artist living in Madison, Wisconsin. Liz says: " The Midwest has a reputation of backwards politics, but there is love and acceptance here too. From the flag to land itself, conservatives have monopolized our national symbols. It's time we reclaimed what belongs to all Americans.”

Nicole says, " I have lived in New York for 7 years and I've never heard the city so quiet. Or seen people cry on the streets, in the subway, just everywhere. Nor have I seen the amount of empathy I have since the election.

Things are not ok, and they will not be. We have to acknowledge this as a fact and fight for what we believe to be is right. To be resilient and provide human kindness. It's easy to say that everything is going to be ok just to feel better. But right now we shouldn't.

I am a female, jewish, dual citizen. I am terrified but I won't give up."
